Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (MSIL) has stopped production of the iconic Maruti 800 car, bringing down the curtains on a car that has been immensely popular with millions of Indian middle class families. C V Raman, Executive Director, MSIL, said though the car production has stopped, spare parts will be available for customers for the next 8-10 years . The car, which was a breadwinner for many MSIL dealers across the country , may not be available in a newer version unlike other MSIL brands.
cv raman executive director MSIL said that“Now on the 18th of January ,we stopped the production completely.we have to keep all of them for the spare parts requirement.we have to continuosly meet the customers requirements.that is our duty to make sure that they get all parts.By fulfilling its place MSIL launched the new model named celerio. test drive is also done,the bookings are opening soon. I hope that the celerio is fulfill the absence of maruti 800(a middle class family car).
