Micromax is set to go the Xiaomi, Microsoft and Samsung way. The company is developing its own operating system(OS) as well as a suite of services and apps which will run across its phones, tablets, televisions and wearables, as it goes up the value chain to differentiate itself from increasing competition.
Just like other OSes it is also takes an advantage of google's open source platform. The company's software team in Bangalore is believed to be developing Android OS and about 100 people in design teams have been acquired from Nokia's R&D in Beijing.
"The first smartphone with the new OS will be available by the end of this year" said by Micromax's co- founder Vikas jain.
Micromax already in the second place in Indian handset market, and it is closed to the 'fiscal 2015 with rs 11,000 crores of revenue and sells about 3 million phones a month.
